For our first show of the New Year, we tackled all sorts of topics. To begin, we played a bit of catch-up for the week we missed between seasons, recounting stories of our holiday experiences and what new movies and/or games we saw and/or played. Sean talks at length about his series of bad moviegoing experiences – from the 3D effect turning off during a screening of The Hobbit to the fire alarm going off in Django Unchained – before jumping into a lengthily discussion of the high frame rate, 48-frames-per-second version of The Hobbit.

But for our main topic, we have returned to our perennial standby of Doctor Who to review and analyze this year’s Christmas Special, “The Snowmen.” We have a new TARDIS, new opening titles, a new costume for the Doctor, and a new companion….or do we? Lots to discuss for this exciting new phase of the series, so do not listen to this part of the podcast until you have seen “The Snowmen!”

Enjoy, and we will see you next week for our 2013 preview episode, in which we will look at all the exciting-looking games and movies coming out these next 12 months.

TIME CHART:

 Introductions/Holiday Stories: 0:00:00 – 0:10:48
