For those who are unfamiliar, Mota made history as the first-ever social media star to compete on the beloved competition series, due to her extreme success on YouTube back in the early 2010s.

Coined as a “YouTube sensation, fashion designer, and beauty expert,” Mota became most recognizable names in the early ages of social media, amassing nearly ten million subscribers on her YouTube channel, MacBarbie07. Posting fashion and beauty content geared towards teenage girls, Mota’s beaming smile and charming personality grasped the attention of young women across the country, ultimately building a massive following that allowed her to have her own clothing line at Aeropostale, her own fragrance, and more.

Of course, this larger than life following secured her a spot on season 19 of Dancing With The Stars as well, competing alongside celebs like Janel Parrish, Sadie Robertson, and even the current Dancing With The Stars host, Alfonso Ribero — how fun is that?

Despite stunning fans across the country with her stellar dance skills, the social media star did not take home the Mirrorball Trophy on season 19 of Dancing With The Stars — however, she did compete as one of the four duos in the finale: Bethany Mota and Derek Hough, Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy, Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas, and Alfonso Ribero and Witney Carson.

Despite receiving a combined score of 76 out of 80 for her two dances that fateful night, Mota was eliminated first during the season 19 finale, causing her to end her Dancing With The Stars journey with a fourth place finish.

Upon her elimination, the 19-year-old dished, “I’ve discovered things about myself. Things I never thought I could do. I was just hoping to make it past week two, so to be in the finals was the best thing ever.”

This same season, Ribero went on to win the Mirrorball Trophy, securing his spot as a Dancing With The Stars champion, ultimately leading to his hosting gig.

Fans can watch Ribero host season 32 of Dancing With The Stars every Tuesday from 8pm to 10pm ET/PT on both ABC and Disney Plus, with next-day streaming on Hulu.
