Where is ‘Love Island: Aftersun’ filmed and how can you buy tickets?

You don't need to hit up the villa to be in the 'Love Island: Aftersun' audience.

Love Island is a reality show success story. Since the show launched in the UK in 2015, it has gone from strength to strength, becoming a reality-show juggernaut and spawning a massive international franchise. And one of the most popular parts of the UK show is its aftershow, Love Island: Aftersun. But where is this show filmed and how can you be part of the audience?

What is Love Island: Aftersun?

Debuting alongside the show’s third season in 2017, Love Island: Aftersun is a studio show that gives viewers a deeper look into the events of Love Island. Since the show’s inception, Aftersun has been hosted by the main show’s host, with both Caroline Flack and Laura Whitmore previously handling hosting duties.

The 2023 edition of Love Island: Aftersun will be hosted by Maya Jama, who, like previous hosts, will also be hosting the main show, meaning she will have a busy schedule as she’ll be splitting her time between the villa and the studio. She’ll be joined by the hosts of Love Island: The Morning After podcast, former Love Island contestant Indiyah Polack and reality show veteran Sam Thompson.

Plus, each week will have special guests, interviews with the latest contestants to be eliminated from the show, and behind-the-scenes clips viewers won’t get anywhere else.

Where is Love Island: Aftersun filmed?

While the winter 2023 Love Island season is filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, its aftershow is recorded in a much less exotic location. Love Island: Aftersun is filmed at BBC Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, a town in the county of Hertfordshire, about 22 kilometers outside of London.

Despite Borehamwood lacking Cape Town’s warm summers and beautiful beaches, Elstree Studios has been home to many of the UK’s most popular television programs, including the long-running soap opera EastEnders.

How do you get tickets for Love Island: Aftersun?

Love Island: Aftersun is filmed in front of a live studio audience, giving the show a fun, chaotic, and energetic atmosphere. Like many studio-based shows filmed at Elstree Studios, members of the public can get tickets to be part of the audience.

To get tickets, interested parties must visit the Applause Store website and click the Love Island link. Then select the date you want. While these tickets are free, they do sell out very quickly due to the show’s immense popularity, so you might have to try several times before you’re able to get your hands on a ticket.
