Wilson Cruz Says Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 Will Be Lit And Amazing

After a solid, if unspectacular first run, Star Trek: Discovery will continue to live long and prosper all the way into season 2. After a solid, if unspectacular first run, Star Trek: Discovery will continue to live long and prosper all the way into season 2. Yes, despite some mixed reactions to its rookie outing, there was enough good in there for CBS to give it a renewal and from what we understand, it’s set to be with us in January 2019.

Exactly where Discovery goes from here is still unknown, though. For instance, will the Klingon War spill over into season 2? And can we expect CBS’ series to branch off and explore other members of the USS Discovery crew? Time will tell, but what we know for certain is that Captain Christopher Pike will enter the fray while it’s also been said that the Klingons will be sporting a new design when we see them next. Oh, and did we mention Spock is set to play a key role, too?

Beyond that, it’s tough to say what’s in store, as the network’s keeping any and all plot details under wraps, but according to actor Wilson Cruz, who plays Dr. Culber, we’re in for a real treat. Speaking to the crowd at Star Trek Las Vegas, he said the following:

We are really excited for people to see season two. I think we have found our footing. We’ve gotten a little past the awe of the set. We are so in love with each other and love working together, and because of that, season two is going to be amazing. Lit as the kids say it.

Of course, it’s not out of the ordinary to see talent hype up a project they’re involved with, but as we mentioned above, there’s certainly a lot to look forward in season 2 and we haven’t even scratched the surface of what CBS has to offer yet. Make no mistake about it, the network’s still got many secrets and surprises up its sleeve, and we can’t wait to see what else awaits us.

Star Trek: Discovery plots course for CBS All Access early next year, and as soon as more updates arise, we’ll be sure to let you know.
