With a beta for Battlefield Hardline currently available for the PlayStation 4 and PC, Xbox One owners have been feeling a little left out in the cold, and understandably so. Everyone is obviously eager to get their hands on the next instalment in the juggernaut series and thankfully, those of us who without a PS4 or PC will get a chance to check out the beta as well.
DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson was the one who delivered the news, saying that the company plans to release a beta on all platforms before the game launches, but that the version seen on the Xbox One won’t be the same version as the one that’s currently on the PS4 and PC. Unfortunately, no further details were given.
I actually got the chance to go hands-on with the game last week at E3 2014 and wasn’t terribly impressed with it. I’m not really digging the whole cops and robbers thing and just couldn’t get into the match that I was playing. That being said, I’m not writing it off just yet. I’ve been a longtime fan of this series and will definitely be giving the beta, and the full game a spin, before I make any final decisions.
Battlefield Hardline will release on October 21st. We’ll let you know when we get a date for the beta. Until then, check out some gameplay from E3 below.
