Lords of the Fallen dev CI Games’ has unveiled Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in the first half of 2016.
Built “from the ground up” with the new hardware in mind, the third iteration in the cult shooter series will take the clandestine action to Eastern Europe, where players will take up arms as a sniper caught amongst a war between three rival factions. It’s not exactly reinventing the wheel, but CI Games has assured fans that Ghost Warrior 3 will offer up an element of non-linear play, as well as more liberating, Sandbox-styled gameplay across vast maps.
The studio is yet to unveil any official imagery from the game, nor have they released any footage, but given that the title won’t be ready for duty until 2016, the lack of information is wholly understandable.
In a press release, here’s what the company had to say about the upcoming threequel:
“The Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise is one of the most popular in the CI Games portfolio with over 5.5 million copies sold, so we’re investing a significant amount of effort into the third instalment,“ says Marek Tyminski, CEO, CI Games. “We’re fully committed to creating a AAA franchise that gamers can rely on for the ultimate first-person sniper experience.”
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is still incubating in development, but CI Games’ shooter has a 2016 release date between its crosshairs for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
