Different Tuna announced today that the PSN exclusive Derrick the Deathfin will launch on the PlayStation Store on October 9th, for a $7.99.

For those who have not been keeping up with the PSN’s “premier underwater papercraft action game”, Derrick the Deathfin has players take control of a teenage shark (Derrick) who is out for revenge after his parents are turned into cans of sharkfin tuna. On his way to destroy all of mankind, Derrick must continually eat fish and keep moving to stay alive.

Basically, think Ecco the Dolphin type gameplay, only replace the dolphin with a cute papercraft shark destroying/eating an even cuter papercraft world.

Check out Derrick the Deathfin‘s “making of” trailer below. Most of it centers around the development team constructing actual papercraft (which is as boring to watch as it sounds), but if you hang in there long enough you get to see some very eye-catching gameplay.
