NIS America has announced plans to bring Disgaea 5 to western audiences, after the publisher confirmed that the tactical role-playing sequel will arrive in North America and Europe in 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Jordan Vincent — marketing coordinator for NIS America — provided a brief synopsis for the latest entry into the franchise, which will reportedly have the most absurd damage numbers you’ve ever seen (quite the feat, for a Disgaea game).
As a new and terrible Overlord named Void Dark seeks to enslave the countless Netherworlds, one young demon has stood to end his reign — Killia. In Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, you will lead Killia and his tenacious army of rebels in their struggle against Dark Void. Along their dark path to vengeance, you will encounter more hilarious writing, over-the-top animations, and absurd damage numbers than anyone has seen in a Disgaea game. Ever.
For Diagaea 5, fans of the long-running RPG series can look forward to a whole new battle system in the form of the Alliance Attack. In essence, the new method of approach will open up a range of special attacks should players properly align their characters’ relationship on the battlefield. Elsewhere, NIS America hinted that users will be able to explore no less than 40 races and jobs, while an all-new stat-boosting system will be included that orbits around revenge.
Nippon Ichi Software’s RPG will beckon fans to the Netherworld once more when Disgaea 5 arrives exclusively for PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe in late 2015.
