For all we know, a Halo movie might never actually see the light of day, but Microsoft is going to do the next best thing by creating a web series focusing around the Halo universe.

Entitled Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, the miniseries will be released on Halo Waypoint and Machinima. Not much info is known other than the sweet picture released above, but Microsoft is teasing more information when Comic Con is underway later this summer.

The series itself is set to be broken down into five weekly episodes, each lasting about 15 minutes or so. Story of the miniseries is up in the air, but it would seem Master Chief making an appearance is a pretty safe bet.
