Cliff Bleszinksi has revealed in an interview that we can look forward to a new Epic game being announced in early 2011. Cliffy B says in the interview with EGM that the idea for the game was originally his own brain child but has since became the lead designer of Prototype, Eric Holmes’ vision. There are no firm details on the game itself yet or even what we can expect at the reveal (teaser, gameplay etc) but he did say that gamers should keep their “eyes peeled at GDC”.
On the subject of IP’s and gamers interest in new ventures Cliff Bleszinksi said:
“Gamers votes with their dollars and they often like established IP, but those IPs came from somewhere, right? Call of Duty was crafted by the original Medal of Honor guys. Gears of War was crafted by the original Unreal Tournament guy. I look forward to creating what’s next.”
Epic have a new original game already on the way of course with the great looking Bulletstorm being released on the 22nd of February with the GDC beginning eight days later on the 28th of February.
Personally I’ve always really enjoyed Epic’s games so I have to admit that a new game and the announcement of another new IP coming in the same year as Gears of War 3’s release is a not too shabby way to start the year.
