Sick of paying out the ass for additional content released for your favorite games? Don’t worry, Capcom’s got you covered. Yes, you read that correctly, Capcom – the company that’s received bad press in the past for locking DLC content on the disc – has stated that all future character releases after the initial release roster of 16 characters will be unlockable without having to spend a single penny.

Street Fighter V will feature an in-game currency – Fight Money – which will be obtainable by directly playing the game, and can be spent on unlocking future characters. For those that want instant access to any and all new content, the option to buy it with real money is still there as an alternative. The good news doesn’t stop there, though. Capcom officially revealed a new fighter – Nicalli – at last night’s EVO Championship finals, and released a statement detailing how he plays.

Making full use of the Battle System mechanics, Necalli’s V-Skill allows him to pound the ground with both fists, creating an explosion that damages the enemy whereas the powerful V-Trigger allows him to channel a mysterious energy that changes his hair colour and alters his personality for a short period of time. Capcom will be revealing more information on Necalli’s origin and storyline in the coming months so stay tuned for more details.

The more we hear about Street Fighter V, the better it sounds. But what are your thoughts on next year’s pedigree fighter? Let us know in the comments below!
