After opting to forego a media showcase at this year’s Gamescom trade show in Cologne, Germany, it appears Sony is primed and ready to make up for lost time. Due to take place in little under three weeks’ time, the Parisian event will take place the week of Monday, October 26 in the French capital, and the Japanese giant will be in attendance.

Riding the crest of a wave following last month’s Tokyo Game Show, Sony will no doubt be realigning its wares to appeal to the European market, with plenty of announcements expected. In fact, President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida teased that the company has many reveals waiting in the wings from both first and third party developers.

Speaking on the most recent episode of Kinda Funny offshoot PS I Love You XOXO, Yoshida-san promised that “some exciting announcements” are in store.

In terms of positioning of the press conference for Paris Games Week, it’s exactly the position that we used to have for gamescom. So, you can look back on what we did for gamescom in the past. We actually announced many games from both first-parties and third-parties.

A little further along in the interview, the Sony executive noted that Sony Bend – developers of Syphon Filter and the unsung Vita gem Uncharted: Golden Abyss – is indeed cooking up a new title, one which he claims to be “the biggest Bend game ever.” Will we see a reveal in Paris?

In terms of hardware, now that the company has slashed the asking price of the PlayStation 4 in both Japan and North America, is a similar reduction on the cards for Europe and other PAL territories? We’ll find out soon one way or the other.

Sony‘s Paris Games Week showcase has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 27 at 9am PT/12pm ET/6pm CEST, and we’ll have all of the coverage for you right here on We Got This Covered.
