While the recent news that The Walking Dead season two will be released shortly may have made more of a splash, Telltale is quick to remind us that they have another critically acclaimed adventure series going on too. The Wolf Among Us, based around the comic book series Fables, saw its first episode released back in October to rapturous reviews, and now Telltale has revealed that the second episode is “close to completion.”

Entitled Smoke & Mirrors, the next episode of The Wolf Among Us continues to follow the exploits of Bigby Wolf as he investigates a series of brutal murders. While additional story details have yet to be revealed, fans of the series have been provided with two new screenshots that show off some familiar faces and places. One image (seen above) depicts the Pudding & Pie club which all Fables go to, while the second picture (below) reveals that Jack of Jack and the Beanstalk fame will be making an appearance.

Although the chapter is almost complete according to the company, they have yet to reveal an actual solid release date yet. Instead, Telltale has only announced that they will have another update for us soon.

“We wanted to thank everyone for playing the first chapter in The Wolf Among Us, and ask for your patience as the team works very hard this month to finalize what is shaping up to be another episode full of surprises. We’re anticipating another update on its ETA for release very soon after the holidays, and we couldn’t be more excited to continue this series with all of you.”

While I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, it does appear that Telltale struggles with its release schedule at times. If you recall, the first season of The Walking Dead experienced some delays and now, it appears that The Wolf Among Us is dealing with the same sort of issues. Hopefully the company can nail down a solid release schedule following the release of this chapter.

We will be sure to bring you more news on Smoke & Mirrors’ official release date when Telltale announces it.

Tell us, are you excited to continue the tale of Bigby Wolf in the next chapter of The Wolf Among Us? Or are you once again frustrated by Telltale’s release date issues? Let us know in the comments section below.
