Although we’ve seen them trade blows in The Avengers, imagine the devastation that the Hulk and Thor could cause if they fought in their very own movie. These two powerhouses are the strongest heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a confrontation between them could level entire cities if left unchecked.
Sometimes, it can feel contrived when writers pit two superheroes against each other, but this particular match-up is one of the most likely on this list. The Hulk has fought a number of heroes over the years due to his uncontrollable rage ,and his history with Thor in particular has not been very amicable. In fact, one of the highlights of The Avengers was the moment where Hulk sneakily sucker punched the Asgardian, and it would be incredibly satisfying to see Thor return the favour in a movie that stars them both.
In the past, Hulk has been notoriously tricky to adapt for the big screen, so pitting him against a fellow Avenger would be a sure-fire way to attract a wider audience, while still giving Bruce Banner his time to shine. Mark Ruffalo’s interpretation of the role has been extremely popular up to this point, so it would make sense to throw the spotlight on the studio’s most successful incarnation of the character so far.
