You know how Kevin Feige has vowed to introduce entirely new types of heroes throughout Marvel’s Phase 4? Well, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will soon become the supercharged fulcrum of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Pegged for a big-screen debut in 2019 thanks to that standalone Captain Marvel movie, Larson is also expected to swing by the so-far untitled Avengers 4 after receiving Nick Fury’s intergalactic distress signal at the tail-end of Infinity War. Besides, after getting their collective pan knocked in by Thanos, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes could do with a new ally. And a powerful one at that.
Captain Marvel fits the bill quite nicely, then, and thanks to some leaked Avengers 4 concept art (h/t MCU Cosmic), down below you’ll be able to see Brie Larson’s heroine rubbing shoulders with her fellow MCU heroes. Also, check out War Machine’s badass upgrade. Pretty cool, eh?
You’ll remember that the Internet was sent into a tizzy earlier this month when the first piece of Avengers 4 promo art escaped online. It essentially confirmed the new team line-up, all the while showcasing Hulk’s brand new battle suit.
We should warn you, though, that Marvel’s head honcho Kevin Feige recently told enthused fans that it would be foolish to make any assumptions about Phase 4 of the MCU so early on, as the Powers That Be have only shared details of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (check out Gunn’s first draft!), Spider-Man: Far From Home (yes, that is the title!) and, to a lesser extent, the planned Eternals movie (a Marvel history lesson, perhaps?).
Alas, the post-Avengers 4 MCU has been draped in a thick veil of secrecy, but if nothing else, today’s leaked promo art ought to fan the flames of excitement.
