New Avengers: Infinity War Blooper Reel Features A Mary Poppins Musical Number

While 1964’s Mary Poppins is decidedly short on action scenes, you get the impression that the superpowered title character could totally hold her own in battle if the occasion ever called for it. Between her telekinetic cleaning, her flight-enabling umbrella, and her ability to open up portals to cartoon dimensions, this magical nanny could surely give Doctor Strange and the rest of the Avengers: Infinity War cast a run for their money, and if Disney ever decides to open the MCU up to its non-Marvel properties, the practically perfect Poppins would surely be a worthy addition.

It’s not like the star of the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns doesn’t already have a presence of sorts in the ongoing superhero franchise, either. For one thing, you may recall the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where Yonder famously yells “I’m Marry Poppins, ya’ll!” as he descends from the sky. On top of that, thanks to a new Infinity War blooper reel, we now have footage of Tony Stark himself delivering a spirited rendition of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” Don’t believe us? Check it out for yourself below.

The clip of Robert Downey Jr. belting out the classic musical number against the backdrop of a wrecked New York is just one of several gags to feature here. While Iron Man’s enthusiasm for the beloved show tune may not technically be canon, it’s still a cute little moment of levity on the set of a film known for its grim ending. Hell, you can even see Benedict Cumberbatch in full Strange getup joining in on the fun. What’s not to like?

Other highlights from the blooper video include Danai Gurira of Black Panther fame dropping Okoye’s stern demeanor in response to a noisy goat, and Paul Bettany in full Vision makeup telling an off-screen Mark Ruffalo, “f*ck you.” Now there’s the sort of language that could earn the British actor a severe telling off from Ms. Poppins herself, but if you’d like to even more behind the scenes action from the set of the year’s biggest movie, then you might want to check out the newly available Avengers: Infinity War Blu-ray and DVD releases (order here).
