The Avengers Look Glorious In These Infinity War IMAX Trailer Stills

Though it's now been out for over a month, people are still going on about the Avengers: Infinity War trailer - and can you blame them? Packed full of Avengers, action, an ominous tone and lots of intriguing teases for what the movie holds, it didn't drop too much all at once, saving quite a lot for future previews and the actual film itself. While that's certainly a good thing, it's left fans wanting more and with Marvel still holding their cards close to the vest, people are starting to get antsy.

No doubt, a second trailer will be with us in the next month or two, but until then, there’s no harm in revisiting that first bit of footage and that’s exactly what we can do now with the stills in the gallery down below. Pulled from the IMAX version of the preview, these provide our best look yet at Infinity War, showing off Joe and Anthony Russo’s superhero extravaganza in all its high definition glory.

Granted, some IMAX pics surfaced a while back, but these ones seem to be even higher resolution and given the drought surrounding the movie at the moment, we’re happy with whatever we can get our hands on.

Said to be Marvel’s “deadliest showdown yet,” Avengers: Infinity War will herald an epic battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos, the unruly Mad Titan who’s been hiding in the shadows ever since that post-credits scene of The Avengers. Six years later, and Josh Brolin’s über-villain is finally – finally! – ready to get up off that levitating space throne and take matters into his own giant, oversized hands.

There’s an apocalyptic invasion on the cards, then, and the Russo Brothers will be calling upon every single hero in the Marvel pantheon – yes, even Hawkeye – to fend off Thanos and his Black Order. It’s been a long time coming, too, but now, after 10 years and 17 films’ worth of build-up – Black Panther notwithstanding – Avengers: Infinity War is finally prepped and ready to deliver a huge climax on May 4th.

The fight against the Mad Titan won’t end there, though, as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will assemble one final time the following year, on May 3rd, to take down the big bad once and for all.
