David Slade To Helm A Daredevil Reboot

Daredevil is to return to our screens and in the hands of British director David Slade, most known perhaps for directing the best of the Twilight movies, Eclipse (admittedly not saying a great deal). The last time we saw the blind superhero was in 2003 starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Michael Clarke Duncan and Colin Farrell and was, for all intent and purposes, pretty wretched, the best thing about it being Joe Pantoliano as a slimy reporter.

Variety have reported that the film will have no connection to the previous film other than it being a continuation of the story. The studio have yet to hire someone to write the film, but they would be working closely with Slade anyway. This sounds like an alright idea to me, Slade has proven himself with genre work and has shown to be very adept at handling it. Hard Candy is still an underrated little gem of a movie and that if anything shows you how talented Slade can be when given the right script. Next task, casting. We’ll keep you posted.
