Finnick Odair won’t be played by Taylor Kitsch in The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, and probably neither Garrett Hedlund nor Armie Hammer will play the suave 24-year-old either, according to producer Nina Jacobson.

Rumor spread last week that the three aforementioned actors were on a “Finnick shortlist,” of which Jacobson also denies the existence. Concerning the casting, Jacobson says that the fans are way ahead of the filmmakers with this cast, saying “we’ve not narrowed things down by any means. It’s funny to see how things can take on a life of their own.”

Personally, I think this is great news. I don’t have a problem with any of the three actors, but I stand by my choice of Zac Efron for the role. He matches the physical description perfectly, all High School Musical jokes aside. You can see the rest of our Catching Fire casting pics for other characters like Johanna and Mags here.

What do you think? Was anyone really getting on board for Hedlund or Hammer? Let us know what you think in the comments.
