Love, Family And The Antichrist Combine In Offbeat Trailer For Netflix’s Little Evil

Adam Scott comes face-to-face with evil incarnate in the hilarious first trailer for Netflix's horror-comedy, Little Evil.

Picture the scene: you’re a stepfather madly in love with the woman of your dreams. Things are going swimmingly, until you discover that her quirky five-year-old son is actually the spawn of Satan.

That is, in a nutshell, the elevator pitch of Little Evil, Netflix’s offbeat new comedy from the mind of Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil). Headed up by Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation) and Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp), the trailer above introduces us to Gary (Scott), an Average Joe who finds himself smack bang in the middle of a Doomsday conspiracy upon realizing that his new stepson, Lucas (Owen Atlas), harbors all of the qualities of the Antichrist.

The film’s horror callbacks help drive that point home, too, as Lucas is placed face-to-face with an old analog TV (see: Poltergeist) along with the shot of him playing on a rickety old swing a la The Omen. All kids may be dicks, as Adam Scott’s flustered character moans in the Little Evil reveal trailer, but Lucas takes things to a whole new and potentially satanic level.

Here’s the official logline for Netflix’s latest horror-comedy:

From writer/director Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil), Adam Scott (Big Little Lies, Parks & Recreation) and Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man, Lost) star in this offbeat comedy about love, family, and the Antichrist. Gary has just married the love of his life, Samantha, and is now the stepfather to her quirky five-year-old son, Lucas (Owen Atlas). But he soon finds himself in increasingly odd situations around the child, which drives him to believe his new stepson may actually be the spawn of Satan.

Also starring former Scrubs actor Donald Faison, Bridget Everett, and Chris D’Elia, Little Evil will haunt the popular streaming service on September 1st.
