A Quiet Place

New Photos For A Quiet Place Tease One Of The Year’s Scariest Films

New photos from A Quiet Place - which is being hailed as one of the year's best horror films - have debuted online today.

Sound design can be so crucial in the creation of a horror movie, as every scene – every pulse-pounding moment of dread – can be greatly amplified by shrill music. Or a prolonged moment of silence.

It’s practically the lifeblood of every jump-scare, but with A Quiet Place, writer-director John Krasinski is going one step further. Best known for his long stretch on The Office – along with those rumors of a possible role in Fantastic Four – Krasinski has crafted a fascinating family thriller in which his isolated home is hounded by “an unknown threat.”

Sound familiar? The twist here is that the mysterious monsters of A Quiet Place are only attracted by sound, meaning every peep can be fatal – every breath a brush with death. It’s a deeply unsettling pitch, and real-life husband and wife, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow, Mary Poppins Returns), have already spooked audiences with the film’s recent SXSW premiere.

Now, riding off the wave of all those positive reviews coming out of the festival, we’ve got a ton of new photos from A Quiet Place to bring you, which tease what looks to be one of 2018’s scariest moviegoing experiences.

In case you missed it, our very own Matt Donato had the chance to catch A Quiet Place at the aforementioned South by Southwest Festival and concluded the following about it:

John Krasinski orchestrates a loud and ferocious symphony of sonic scares that will assert this as one of the year’s most terrorizing films.

With a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes – at the time of writing – it really does look like this will be one of the genre’s finest offerings for 2018 and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves when A Quiet Place sneaks into theaters next month, on April 6th.
