New Images From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Show Off Green Goblin And Rhino

At this point, Sony has made it impossible for us to forget that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters in May, as they've released a seemingly endless onslaught of trailers, clips, featurettes, and images from the much anticipated Spidey sequel. Though we've already seen four trailers for the film, Sony has been teasing the "final" trailer all week long and today, they have dropped a few new photos to tide us over until it arrives (which should be at some point tomorrow).

At this point, Sony has made it impossible for us to forget that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters in May, as they’ve released a seemingly endless onslaught of trailers, clips, featurettes, and images from the much anticipated Spidey sequel. Though we’ve already seen four trailers for the film, Sony has been teasing the “final” trailer all week long and today, they have dropped a few new photos to tide us over until it arrives (which should be at some point tomorrow).

This time around, Peter Parker will battle three formidable foes: Electro (Jamie Foxx), the Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti). We’ve been told several times from director Marc Webb that this is very much Electro’s movie, and that Rhino will only appear for four minutes as a way to set him up for a larger role in future films. We still have yet to see a clear closeup of the mech suit he’ll be wearing, but the image below gives us our first glimpse at the entire thing (even if from afar).

We still know very little about the Goblin’s involvement, though it’s clear from the promotional material and the image above that Harry Osborne is the one who undergoes the villainous transformation this time, rather than his father. Is this some early iteration of the Goblin, acting as a precursor to Norman’s version in a later film? Only time will tell, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrives in theaters on May 1st, 2014. Check out the new images below and come back tomorrow for the final trailer!
