Rubbing shoulders with a hoard of other props, costumes and vehicles from the existing 8 Batman movies, the latest rendition of Bruce Wayne’s hulking vehicular companion is part of a special exhibition hosted by the studio itself, and the video above details some of the design tweaks that went into the creation of the Batmobile.

Mixing elements from Nolan’s Tumbler along with the elongated look of the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s movies, Snyder’s is a lean, mean war machine. Sporting a deadly machine gun at the front, the closest comparison would be to the one found in Rocksteady’s recently-released video game threequel, Arkham Knight.

Upon the arrival of Dawn of Justice‘s high-speed tank, Warner Bros. released the following statement.

“The arrival of the new Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will bring our Studio Tour guests closer than ever to the entertainment they love,” said Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood’s Executive Director, Danny Kahn. “It’s the first time in our history we have the opportunity to showcase memorabilia from a film exclusively to our guests before its release. The new Batmobile, alongside the other iconic vehicles, is definitely a must-see.”

Love it or loathe it, WB’s new take on the age-old classic will become a permanent fixture in the company’s new-fangled cinematic universe. Not only will the Batmobile feature heavily in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it’ll also appear in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, and we understand that the design team took this longevity into consideration before setting out to create Ben Affleck’s most prized gadget.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will jump-start the DC Expanded Universe when Zack Snyder’s superhero epic lands in theaters on March 25, 2016.
