The cast of Roland Emmerich’s White House Down has already added some heavy hitters to its line-up, but now it’s getting one more. Joey King, the young actress from The Dark Knight Rises, has just signed on as the daughter of Channing Tatum‘s character in the film.

Tatum plays a Secret Service agent assigned to protect the White House. When terrorists strike on his first day on the job, he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. According to The Film Stage, it must be take your daughter to work day at the White House because Tatum’s character will apparently have “one more hostage to worry about.”

This film may not be as high profile as The Dark Knight Rises, but it’s a good chance for King to continue establishing herself as a young actress. She will star alongside some impressive names like Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Richard Jenkins and it can’t hurt to be around talented actors like the ones I just listed.

King has already built a decent resume with films like Ramona and Beezus, and Crazy, Stupid, Love under her belt and White House Down will give her some more experience, but in a different genre. Plus, watching her play Channing Tatum’s “precocious daughter” should be a definite crowd pleaser.

White House Down is slated for a late 2013 release date with production for the film on the verge of starting. It looks like they are wrapping up casting now, so it shouldn’t be too long before things get underway.
