Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Clip Introduces Parminder Nagra’s Character

The fourth season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took a little hiatus this week, but we'll return to the action this coming Tuesday with a brand new episode, titled "Uprising". In it, the main plot will shift away from Ghost Rider and Daisy to focus on the team investigating a series of global blackouts, and a mysterious new enemy who seems dead set on targeting the Inhuman population. The episode will also introduce Parminder Nagra (Bend it Like Beckham, ER, Blackout) as Senator Rota Nadeer - and she isn't the biggest fan of the Terrigen Mist-afflicted folk, either.

The episode will also introduce Parminder Nagra (Bend it Like Beckham, ER, Blackout) as Senator Rota Nadeer – and she isn’t the biggest fan of the Terrigen Mist-afflicted folk, either. Back when it was first announced that Nagra had joined the cast, we were told she’d be playing a “powerful political figure who is outspoken in her distrust of Inhumans and the threat they pose to society,” and this clip gives her agenda an even more sinister sheen by making it clear that she’s choosing to get on her soapbox in the middle of a potential Inhuman massacre. Could Nadeer have something to do with the shadowy new threat stalking the streets, perhaps?

Nagra is set to have a recurring guest role, so something tells me there’s definitely more to her character one way or another. Hopefully we’ll find out exactly what’s going on when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns in its usual timeslot on ABC next week.
