We’ve known that Carrie Ann Moss (The Matrix, Memento) was going to be part of the cast of Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones for quite some time now, but it was only this weekend at New York Comic-Con that her role was finally announced. It turns out Moss will be playing an established Marvel Comics character with ties to Danny Rand, AKA Iron Fist – but with one slight alteration.

During the NYCC panel, Marvel’s head of television, Jeph Loeb, announced that Moss would be playing a female incarnation of Jeryn Hogarth. In the comics, Hogarth was an attorney who worked for Danny Rand’s rather Wendell, and eventually went on to work closely with Iron Fist and Luke Cage when they formed Heroes For Hire.

What Jeryn’s (now “Jeri”) exact role in the show will be is unclear, but some official stills feature her and Jones (Krysten Ritter) together, so it’s a safe bet that they’re at the very least acquaintances, if not good friends.

Jessica Jones also stars Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), and all 13-episode series will premiere on Netflix on November 20th, 2015.
