Fans Want Agent Carter To Return And Replace Roseanne On ABC

Most of Marvel's TV shows have been met with massive success, but one that struggled to win over folks was Agent Carter. Though it did have a devoted cult fanbase, ABC axed it after only two seasons due to low ratings, ignoring the vocal call from social media users for it to continue.

It’s a real tragedy, too, as there was so much potential in the series. Super secret agent Peggy Carter is such an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as she co-founded S.H.I.E.L.D. with Howard Stark and worked with Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man. As it was set in the 1950s, Agent Carter had only just scratched the surface of Peggy’s fascinating life and there was so much room to grow in season 3 and beyond.

With that in mind, is there any chance of a revival somewhere down the road? It’s been discussed before, of course, and now with ABC having cancelled Roseanne, fan demand for the show to return has increased dramatically. Over on Twitter, many have voiced their opinion that Agent Carter should replace the aforementioned Roseanne since there’s a gap in programming. It’s not a bad idea, to be honest, but whether the network will listen or not remains to be seen.

Regardless, here’s a few of those aforementioned Tweets:

For what it’s worth, we know that Atwell is certainly game for more, with the actress recently offering up some ideas for a third season:

“She’s a great cause and she takes action, so there’s so many things going on socially from the 50s to when she passes, that I think she’d have loved to be a part of, There are so many things so could have been a part of, and probably did do. It could probably fill another season, I’m sure. I hope.”

While we remain hopeful that we’ll see her again one day, even the MCU movies haven’t featured the fan favorite character of late, though rumor has it she could be back for Avengers 4After the significant role she’s held in the franchise, Peggy certainly deserves that at the very least, even if Agent Carter was unfairly cancelled.

As for these new demands to bring it back and replace Roseanne? Well, we wouldn’t hold our breath, but if anything should come from all this, we’ll be sure to let you know.
