Due to pick up immediately after the events of that nail-biting season one finale, today’s enticing snippet comes hand-in-hand with news that Mary-Louise Parker, star of Weeds and West Wing, will guest star in Billions season 2. George Minchak is the name of her character, according to EW, a brilliant strategist who will crop up for a single episode in 2017. Other guest stars booked in for the show’s second outing include Rob Morrow, Dan Soder, Kelly AuCoin, James Wolk, Christopher Denham, Glenn Fleshler, and Eric Bogosian.

When it comes to that core ensemble, Damian Lewis (Bobby “Axe” Axelrod) and Paul Giamatti (Chuck Rhoades) are gearing up for another intense power struggle, while Maggie Siff and Malin Akerman are also on board to reprise as Wendy and Lara, respectively.

Season two picks up immediately after the season one finale, as hard-charging U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) squares off against billionaire hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis), scorching the earth in a costly war for personal domination. It’s law versus money, with power, sex, and the soul of New York in the balance. Maggie Siff stars as Wendy Rhoades, Chuck’s estranged wife and the top performance coach in the hedge fund world. Malin Akerman plays Lara Axelrod, Axe’s fiercely loyal and street-smart wife.

“The only enemy more dangerous than a man with unlimited resources is one with nothing to lose.” Billions season 2 will premiere via Showtime on February 19, 2017 at 10pm ET. Will you be tuning in?
