After witnessing The Flash recapture some of its old magic around the midseason mark, I felt less than enthused to see Barry Allen remain behind bars for several weeks. Really, I couldn’t have been the only one who felt much of the show’s excitement had been lost by having the titular character moping in the clink, right? Not only that, but this season’s big bad, Clifford DeVoe, decided to take a small vacation.
Fortunately for those who were growing bored, Team Flash found a clever way to get Barry exonerated and, in a move that may prove to be divisive, DeVoe once again indulged in his new hobby of body-hopping, this time taking over the mind of Hazard. I’m guessing none of us knew how big of a role Sugar Lyn Beard would play when she was cast last fall, but my better judgment says this won’t be the final form the Thinker will assume.

On the negative side, we’re going to have to wait a while to see what happens next because, as you may remember, the network is putting some of its shows on a brief hiatus of sorts, perhaps in an effort not to compete with the 2018 Winter Olympics.
What we can see as a positive, however, is that of the promo for the next episode, “Subject 9,” revealing when it’ll air, that being on February 27. A three-week hiatus does seem a bit cruel after just returning from midseason break, sure, but it’ll be over before you know it. And who knows, maybe we’ll get treated to some images soon enough, just as we were with Arrow‘s returning episode earlier today.
The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
