Ryan Murphy Dishes Up The Deets On American Horror Story: Cult

Ryan Murphy, aka the the busiest man in television, spent last night on Twitter doling out some tantalizing details about the seventh series of American Horror Story, now officially titled American Horror Story: Cult. You can check out the spine-tingling teaser above, but it seems like the story will centre around some kind of sinister anarchist cult. This isn't just any cult, though... it's a cult...of CLOWNS!

Arguably, the whole freaky clown thing is a little bit played out at this point, but I suppose if you’re going for an indelibly creepy image than a literal army of evil clowns is decent enough. Of course, if you really want to you can actually sort of join a cult of evil clowns in real life, but you’re going to have to put up with some genuinely bonkers people and listen to some godawful music.

Anyways, here are the beans that Murphy spilled all over Twitter last night. Firstly, he told us that Evan Peters will be playing a character named Kai, and that season 7 will feature him extensively. Meanwhile, Sarah Paulson is playing someone named Ally. Furthermore, the upcoming season will be 11 episodes long, will be set in Michigan and, in a positive development, Frances Conroy and Mare Winningham are making a return.

That’s it for now on American Horror Story: Cult. With its premiere just over a month away (on September 5th) though, we should start learning much more about the particulars of this series very soon. As always, watch this space for further updates.
