With little over two weeks to go until season 8’s premiere, AMC has unearthed yet another featurette to fan the flames of excitement. And make no mistake about it, on October 22nd, the network will unleash a full-blown war between Negan, the Saviors and all of their many, many enemies.

Thanks to Rick Grimes and his tight-knit crew, the weathered communities scattered across Alexandria, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom have pulled together in the name of a common cause, and after devoting so much time to character building and generally laying the groundwork for season 8, the next four-to-five weeks will seemingly deliver the payoff The Walking Dead fans so crave. Not only that, but this year’s instalment will seemingly bring a sense of closure to the conflict brewing between Negan and Rick, who will be hoping to enact his revenge on Jeffrey Dead Morgan’s sadist after being subjected to physical and mental torture.

And then there’s the infamous Old Man Rick scene to consider. Word is season 8’s premiere will only shed some light on the flashforward, meaning viewers will have to wait a few more weeks before they receive some concrete answers.

One way or another, the long-anticipated episode has been championed as the show’s most ambitious yet, which only has us all the more worried given everyone involved has warned of the big deaths to come. Hold on to your butts, folks, things are about to get hairy.

Season 8 of The Walking Dead kicks off with a bang on October 22nd, and if it’s more coverage you’re after, be sure to check out our own review of the super-sized season premiere, “Mercy,” also known as the big 100.
