True Blood As Immortal As Its Characters; Season 5 Announced

Lovers of vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, witches, and yes, even werepanthers, rejoice! HBO has just renewed True Blood for a fifth season. This is coming after creator Alan Ball recently stated that he fully intended to make another season, but it wasn't officially in the works yet. In the previous seasons, the writers of True Blood have been loosely following the plotline of The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels, but the main plot of season five is still unknown.

Lovers of vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, witches, and yes, even werepanthers, rejoice! HBO has just renewed True Blood for a fifth season. This is coming after creator Alan Ball recently stated that he fully intended to make another season, but it wasn’t officially in the works. In previous seasons, the True Blood writers have loosely followed the plotline of The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels, but the plot of season five is still unknown.

Without giving much away, the producers have previously said that they plan to bring back Russel Edgington (Denis O’Hare) in season five, the anti-human, vampire king, who was last seen solidifying in cement. This downfall wasn’t present in the novels, so it’s hard to say exactly how he will return and how much he will be in the fifth season. O’Hare claims that Edgington was always going to come back, it was just a matter of when.

True Blood is currently going strong in season four. The characters and stories are more fantastical than ever, and fans’ dreams seem to be coming true. (Nodding at Sookie [Anna Paquin] and Eric [Alexander Skarsgard]). The alphabetical status of actors on the highly popular series has been raising, with actors such as Skarsgard getting roles in big, Hollywood movies, like Battleship.

True Blood is hotter than ever right now, and I can’t think of anything better than getting to see that old vampire Russel return, bloodthirsty for Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric.
