According to a new scoop from Entertainment Weekly, Zachary Quinto is the latest in a line of fresh meat set to join NBC’s Hannibal. The serial killer drama will return to our screens for its third season this summer, with Quinto set to play a patient of Bedelia’s (Gillian Anderson).

Since his small screen splash in Heroes, Quinto’s stock has risen, leading him to a number of TV roles. His recent stint on Girls was followed by a larger role on The Slap. However, his most celebrated performance was as American Horror Story‘s crazed psychopath, Bloody Face. While we don’t know the specifics of his role on Hannibal, if there’s any chance he might be retreading crazy territory… we’re in.

Alas, on the basis of EW’s brief report we estimate that for his upcoming TV appearance, Quinto will be on the other side of a fatal scuffle. Expect him to appear in one of Hannibal’s culinary masterpieces; possibly as pate. However long or short his commitment, Quinto joins a crop of new stars potentially in line for the chopping block. The long-suffering Will Graham will hopefully find some peace, as Nina Arianda signed up earlier this year to play his wife. Alas, so did The Hobbit star Richard Armitage, who was cast as fan favorite baddie, The Tooth Fairy.

Ahead of its return to the small screen this summer, check out the first teaser for Hannibal season 3 and let us know who you think Zachary Quinto should be playing. Another nutter? Or someone a little more stable?
