According to the monitoring site Downdetector, the spike of user reports started around 8pm ET with more than 57,000 complaints registered by 8:21pm. Additionally, it appears that the outages, while spread throughout the country, were amplified in Boston, New York and Atlanta.

Naturally, people flocked to the best source of information — Twitter — to confirm that it wasn’t just a matter of unstable internet or bad luck, Hulu seemed to be down across the board.

In fact, Twitter users were specifying that the social media platform was the first place they checked to make sure that Hulu was indeed down.

Some suggested Hulu try the classic method of simply ‘turning it on and off’ again.

Others turned to who could possibly save them, with one turning to momager extraordinaire Kris Jenner.

One user is suggesting that Netflix is behind it all? Considering the service’s huge Q1 loss, who could blame them?

While Hulu has yet to release a general statement to the public about the outage, the company’s support team were replying to individual complaints, reassuring users that the problem was being addressed.

Apologies for the trouble! We’re working to get this cleared up with top priority, and we hope to have everything cleared up soon. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Soon after, Hulu appeared to have fixed the issue, allowing users to re-access the service. Hulu has yet to release a public statement with a reason why the service dropped.
