‘The Haunting of Hill House’ star would love a spinoff series of her own

Dare we go back to the genuinely terrifying world of Hill House?

Netflix is swarming with an overabundance of original series that pack a punch and leave viewers desperate for more. And, while several of these shows have become sure-fire hits on the platform, 2018’s The Haunting of Hill House has gone down in history as the scariest thing the streaming giant has ever put out. As it turns out, the show’s fans aren’t the only ones demanding that the narrative expand, with a hopeful young star wishing the horror story would return.

While chatting with Screen Rant, star Mckenna Grace, who portrays the younger version of Theo Crain, expressed interest in a potential spinoff for her character. Grace has even contacted Kate Siegel, who plays the older Theo, and thought a spinoff would be an incredible experience:

Playing young Theo was magic. I literally just saw an article that said that Theo should have her own spin off series, and I sent it to Miss Kate, who played older Theo, and I was like, “Let’s do it!” I would love to work with Mr. Mike Flanagan again. I just saw him recently, I thought that he’s brilliant, and I loved doing that show. So I feel like I’d love to revisit the field. But, Judy was so much fun, it’s The Conjuring and Annabelle, so if they’d have me back, I would be ecstatic.

Considering the series’ chaotic finale, which sees most of the Crain characters trapped in the ominous Red Room, it certainly makes sense for a spinoff to explain what happened to Theo after the events in the show. On the other hand, this show could even be a prequel to the events in The Haunting of Hill House, as not every aspect of Theo’s younger life was explained in the contemporary period of the series.

It remains to be seen whether creator and showrunner Mike Flanagan would be open to the idea, but it’s safe to assume that Grace, Siegel, and fans of the series are hopeful for the next chapter in the narrative.

For now, folks can watch The Haunting of Hill House and its sister series The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix.
