‘The Mandalorian’ season three trailer teases tough times ahead for Din Djarin and Grogu

The Return of the King.

We’re counting the days until The Mandalorian returns to Disney Plus. Season two wrapped up with the jaw-dropping return of Luke Skywalker, who zipped in on his X-Wing and carved through Moff Gideon’s death troopers like a hot knife through butter. Since then Din Djarin and Grogu’s adventures continued in The Book of Boba Fett, which saw the pair reunited and ready to spring back into action together.

But with this new trailer, the hype fires have just been stoked to red-hot levels. As expected it seems that the first order of business for Din Djarin is to reclaim his Mandalorian honor after being punished for removing his helmet. To atone he’ll journey to the dark heart of Mandalore on a pilgrimage that looks like it’ll reveal some of the ancient secrets of the planet.

Along this journey, it looks like we’ll be seeing plenty of new places, new faces, and more Jedi as the trailer sneaks in a shot revealing multiple people wielding lightsabers. So there is plenty for fans to get excited about as we approach the season’s release.

The excellent Andor has left other Disney Plus Star Wars shows with big shoes to fill, though we’ve been craving The Mandalorian‘s specific brand of swashbuckling space action since the second season wrapped up in late 2020. And, judging by this trailer, season three is going to deliver.

The Mandalorian season three premieres on Disney Plus on March 1. You can relive the story so far on Disney Plus right now.
