The Chris Pratt Extended Universe is coming to streaming, and the reactions are just as you’d expect

Everyone's least favorite Chris is becoming the focal point of another franchise.

Ever since James Gunn ascended to the throne of DC Studios alongside Peter Safan, plenty of fans have made it abundantly clear that they don’t want to see Chris Pratt anywhere near the franchise, even if the Guardians of the Galaxy director came right out and admitted he’s planning to find room for as many of his Marvel Cinematic Universe collaborators as possible.

When you throw in the ongoing backlash towards his mere presence as the title character in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a reputation in some circles for being the worst of Hollywood’s A-grade Chrises by some distance, and just the general disregard many folks clearly hold for the actor and producer, the last thing they want to see are more Pratt-driven franchises.

In a hammer blow to every single one of them, then, Prime Video hasn’t just officially given a second season of The Terminal List the green light, but the streaming service has additionally announced a prequel series set to revolve around Taylor Kitsch’s Ben Edwards, a close ally of the leading man’s James Reece.

As the star and executive producer, Pratt reportedly earned $1.4 million per episode for the blockbuster series, even if a 39 percent Rotten Tomatoes score hinted it wasn’t worth the investment. Both the Parks and Rec veteran and author of the source novel Jack Carr batted away the negative reviews, and a 94 percent user rating on the aggregation site does indicate that The Terminal List has plenty of supporters ready, willing, and eager to indulge in the franchise’s ongoing expansion.
