Brie Larson offers a helpful update on the skincare routine of a superhero

Not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need.

Every hero needs a skincare ritual to match, and Brie Larson has a solid one to offer. The Marvels star was tapped by Vogue to share her “Easy Everyday Beauty Routine,” revealing all her secrets and favorite brands.

Larson, who is 33 but doesn’t look a day over 25, started by cleansing with two pumps of Retrouvé Luminous Cleansing Elixir — a product she says “lasts a long time” and doesn’t dry out her skin too much. After that minimal, yet essential step was out of the way, the Oscar-winning actress tended to her eyes — often the most telling area of your face when you’ve had a night out, or a busy day.

After ripping open a package of eye masks, Larson revealed she was doing it because she was hungover, and proceeded to pick up an ice roller that she used all over her face. “This is heaven to me,” she commented. Her routine is all about practicality and pragmatism, allowing her to take everything she needs along with her when she’s traveling all over the world for work.

Larson’s layering combo is a standard but effective combo of serum, toner/lotion, lip mask, undereye roller, and moisturizer, which she excitedly revealed is “blue, people!.” She also shared how important it is that, after being on set with heavy make-up and recurrent touch-ups for hours on end, her skincare is light enough to allow her skin to breathe and recuperate. As for the physical strain of the job, the actor, who has played Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2019, takes collagen and caffeine capsules along with collagen water.

“If I’m going to train for something, I’m going to go all in. And so, because I know that about myself, I’m very clear about taking breaks,” Larson shared. “Sometimes when you’re doing a Marvel movie, the actual making of the job is enough exercise in itself,” she continued. Oh, we definitely believe her.

As for make-up, the Room star used tinted moisturizer, a blush stick, followed by glossy eyeshadow, and mascara, and finished it all off with some lipstick, which she describes as her “one bit of effort.” Life hack: use your liquid lipstick as blush if you’re driving in between meetings, Larson offered. She then took viewers through her hairstyling essentials. “Thank you for joining me! I hope you feel happy and safe in your body,” she adorably concluded.

The Marvels is out for the world to watch on Nov. 10, 2023.
