How to watch all the ‘Jackass’ movies in order

Time to get some adrenaline pumping.

Over the years, the Jackass franchise established itself as a North American classic. The success of its 2000 MTV reality show took the public by storm, featuring Johnny Knoxville, Preston Lacy, Brandom Margera, Ehren McGhehey, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Steve-O, Jason Acuña, and Ryan Dunn pulling pranks and performing elaborate (yet very often dangerous) stunts.

The TV series ran for three seasons on the network before Knoxville and his fellow cast members called it quits. Despite all controversy surrounding the series, the franchise only grew, leading to the release of a 2002 movie that was meant as a goodbye to fans. Little did anyone know, that film would be the beginning of something even bigger. Not only did Jackass get several spin-off shows focused on its cast, but it also gave birth to video and mobile games, and nine additional feature-length works.

Those getting into the franchise for the first time would do well to begin with the TV show that started it all, but if fans are looking to dive into the movies, it’s best to do it in order of release. Granted, because these are collections of stunts performed in real life, there’s not much plot to the films, but even so, there’s no denying that it’s more enjoyable to watch content in order.

All Jackass movies in release order

  • Jackass: The Movie (2002)
  • Jackass Number Two (2006)
  • Jackass 2.5 (2007)
  • Jackass Presents: Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Evel Knievel (2008)
  • Jackass 3D (2010)
  • Jackass 3.5 (2011)
  • Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013)
  • Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa .5 (2014)
  • Jackass Forever (2022)
  • Jackass Forever 4.5 (2022)

It’s worth mentioning that the films Jackass 2.5, Jackass 3.5, Bad Grandpa .5, and Jackass Forever 4.5 are completely made up of stunts that were, for some reason or another, left out of the final cut of their respective predecessor. These movies also include behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, and outtakes, which fans of the franchise would not want to miss out on.

Considering the franchise’s success, it’s very likely that a lot more Jackass content will be coming fans’ way in the future. For now, a new spin-off TV show has been confirmed to be in the works in partnership with Paramount Global, but there’s no telling when it will hit the screen. While they wait, fans can always fill the Jackass void in their hearts by rewatching their favorite movies.

The Jackass films are available for streaming on Paramount Plus and Netflix.
