Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) smiling in 'Better Call Saul'

‘Better Call Saul’ fans may still be vindicated as Rhea Seehorn guns for a 2023 Emmy following last year’s snub

Kim Wexler wins or we riot.

We apologize for dredging up unpleasant memories, Breaking Bad universe lovers – but as you may or may not remember, Better Call Saul failed to take home a single Emmy at last year’s awards. This is despite the series’ final season delivering stellar performances all around, and a heart-wrenching narrative that in many ways, more than lives up to its iconic predecessor.

Instead, last year’s awards were swept by the likes of Succession, The White Lotus, and Ted Lasso. All phenomenal in their own right, no doubt – but megafans of the Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn-led series couldn’t help but feel somewhat sleighted

Well, the good news is, we’re going for a round two tussle. Variety confirmed that our beloved Kim Wexler – Rhea Seehorn, has thrown her name back in the hat for Best Supporting Actress in the show, as has Carol Burnett, whose character managed to live through to the end of the series, no thanks to the efforts of Bob Odenkirk.

However, Seehorn isn’t the only nominee from last year’s awards that’s taking another stab at TV’s most prestigious awards night, with The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge also reentering the fray. Again – no disrespect to Coolidge, she was incredible in her respective show, but we have to cordially declare that Rhea Seehorn gets the Emmy, or we riot.

Hopefully Better Call Saul will get some redemption at the Emmys later this year, though it will still be facing some stiff competition in what has been a huge year for television so far. After all, how good was The Last of Us?

It’s all going to be going down at the 75th Primetime Emmys, happening later this year on Sep. 18.
