In surprising, not-at-all expected news, ‘Wednesday’ season 2 will be even kookier than the first

It's going to be altogether ookier.

The minute that Tim Burton’s larger-than-life Wednesday series first touched down on Netflix, eagle-eyed viewers were rewarded with iconic Addams Family content — most of which included the creepy, spooky, ooky, and the kooky. That being said, it hardly comes as a great surprise that the show’s impending second season is already rumored to be “kookier” than the first. But considering the narrative centers around fan-favorite Wednesday Addams and her unorthodox family, the kookiest of moments is certainly bound to happen.

While chatting with Deadline, casting director Sophie Holland revealed the current production process of the project, which entails waiting on the final product of the script and the desire to get the ball rolling on season two by the end of the year. Plus, by teasing the addition of “some exciting and kooky characters” we can expect the show’s all-important kooky component to be increased. Holland said:

“It’s still early doors and I’m still waiting on the script. We hope to roll at the end of the year. I think there’s some exciting and kooky characters coming up in season two.”

Considering star Jenna Ortega’s skyrocketing Hollywood success, it’s certainly a sign of encouragement that the gifted actress is returning to the widely popular series — even despite recent controversies surrounding co-star Percy Hynes White plaguing the project as of late. Nevertheless, the endless parade of unusually odd characters involved in the enthralling show is set to continue — not that we’re complaining in the slightest.

Until then, Burton fanatics can binge the entire first season of Wednesday on Netflix right now.
