Succession fans flocked to social media to share their thoughts on series finale, which masterfully capped off what was been a mammoth fourth and final season of the HBO flagship series. From shocking early-season deaths to the election of a troublesome president, season four of Succession covered new ground while also leaving room for the return of familiar and fan favorite characters.
Earlier this season, audiences saw Ashley Zukerman reprise his role as political strategist and Nate Sofrelli, but the one-time lover of Siobhan Roy (played by Sarah Snook) wasn’t the only Succession castmate to return to screens in season 4. In episode 1, Cherry Jones made another appearance as Nan Pierce, the CEO of Waystar Royco’s rival company PGM, while longtime friend of Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), Stewy Hosseini, also returned in a more recent episode.
Who plays Stewy Hosseini in Succession?
Stewy Hosseini is portrayed by Arian Moayed. The Iranian-American actor is otherwise known for his role as Todd in the Netflix limited series Inventing Anna, as well as portrayal of Mark in the upcoming Julia Louis-Dreyfus-starring comedy You Hurt My Feelings. Moayed also played characters in the television shows Elementary, Mr. Mercedes, The Blacklist and Love Life.
Moayed has also ventured into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Agent Cleary in Spider-Man: No Way Home before reprising the same role in the 2022 series Ms. Marvel. On stage, Moayed has earned Tony Award nominations for his theatre roles in Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo and A Doll’s House.
Last year, Moayed received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Stewy in Succession, and was nominated alongside fellow castmates Adrien Brody, James Cromwell and Alexander Skarsgård.
Who is Stewy Hosseini in Succession?
While the character has dipped in and out of Roy family affairs throughout Succession’s four-season run, Stewy has nonetheless been a peripheral operator at various points throughout the series. Stewy is first introduced in season one as Kendall’s “third-oldest friend,” and went on to unsuccessfully lead the hostile takeover of Waystar and the ousting of Logan (Brian Cox) alongside Kendall.
Stewy went on to appear sporadically throughout seasons two and three as a major shareholder in Waystar. The character’s most recent appearance occurred in last week’s penultimate episode, when Stewy attended Logan’s funeral. Given his shareholder status, much of the fate of who will inevitably succeed Logan falls with Stewy, and fans will no-doubt see exactly what goes down when the tenth episode of Succession season 4 airs today.
