Now that the Guardians of the Galaxy movie has been officially announced and some Ant-Man footage has been shown, Marvel has revealed the official title cards for Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which presumably leads into The Avengers 2.

While it’s interesting to see how Marvel will make the Guardians of the Galaxy fit into the Avengers universe, fans are more excited by the news that Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man is finally happening.

While there’s no official release date announced, it’s likely that the film will be released in 2015 along with The Avengers sequel. It’s rumored that some footage will be shown as part of an end-credits teaser in Iron Man 3 as well

Another interesting bit of news is that unlike the Iron Man series, both the Thor and Captain America sequels will be have more interesting titles than just Thor 2 or Captain America 2, as you can see in the title cards below. Hopefully this trend will continue on to the rest of the Marvel movies as I do like it a lot better.

The renaming of the Captain America sequel as Captain America: The Winter Soldier suggests that Bucky will return as the winter soldier, a Soviet assassin who suffers from amnesia. Since the film will also feature S.H.I.E.L.D., it will be interesting to see if there will be some romantic history between him and the Black Widow, like in the comics, and whether he’ll play a part in The Avengers 2.

I for one cannot wait to see the Marvel universe expand and grow to new heights before we reach Avengers 2. Just imagine the epic scale of the film that will be achieved by combining it with the cosmic side of the Marvel universe. The possibilities are endless.
