Trumps deliberately chose to indulge in distractions while Americans lost their lives

Actions speak louder than words and Donald Trump has shown how he really feels about American citizens with his latest stunt.

If you need any more proof that President Donald Trump simply doesn’t care for the people he’s supposed to be representing, look no further than what he was doing over the weekend while Texans fought for their lives in the flash floods.

The president has proven time and time again that he is incapable of behaving like a leader when the country needs him to be. Most recently Trump was supposedly recorded lapping up the sun in New Jersey with an ice cream in hand. According to numerous outlets the president spent the weekend relaxing and playing golf while the crisis unfolded in Texas.

The flash flood which started on Friday has already claimed a confirmed 82 lives with many still unaccounted for. We likely don’t know the full extent of the death toll just yet but it will no doubt rise. Among the confirmed dead were many children and at present a ten girls and a counselor who were at a Christian Summer camp by the river are currently missing.

Trump’s relaxing weekend left a bad taste in people’s mouths

People were less than impressed with Trump’s decision to spend the entire weekend relaxing while people were dying. Of course, we can expect him to join the rescue efforts but to have at least acted like a leader during such a distressing time would have likely brought comfort to many people. But we can’t even get that from Trump.

On X people called out his evident lack of care for those suffering in the flash floods. One person wrote, “They aren’t rich enough for him to care,” another added, “At a time when leadership meant showing up, coordinating rescue efforts, and putting politics aside, he chose distraction.”

The president’s unhealthy golfing obsession

Very few things come between Donald Trump and his love of golf, even his responsibility as president. This isn’t even the first time this year the president has abandoned the American people in a time of crisis in order to partake in his favorite pastime. His golfing habits are estimated to cost taxpayers around $100 million. Does he care? Judging by how relaxed he looks in that video, probably not.

One person did claim that the clip is an old video although this was not able to be confirmed. What we do know for sure was that Trump was golfing over the weekend. According to Rollcall.com, we know he departed the White House Friday night for the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey and didn’t return until Sunday evening.

Considering he’s supposed to be the country’s leader it would be great if he could, you know, try doing some actual leading for once. But clearly this man couldn’t bear postponing his weekend of golf to do the job he so ferociously campaigned for last year. It’s clear that Trump wanted all the perks of presidency without any of the responsibility.
