Ghislaine Maxwell calls Trump’s bluff, says she’ll tell the ‘truth’ if Congress lets her

Amid controversy related to the Trump Department of Justice memo stating there is no “Epstein client list,” former Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell says she’s ready to tell Congress everything if they’ll let her speak.

The Trump DOJ memo came after the Trump administration and Trump Attorney General Pam Bondi promised to reveal everything about who was included in the so-called Epstein list. Maxwell, meanwhile, is the only person jailed for offenses related to the case.

The Trump DOJ’s decision to effectively declare the Epstein case “closed” and confirm Epstein died by suicide and that no one else will be prosecuted in connection with the case was greeted with controversy, even from Trump’s most loyal MAGA followers.

What about Ghislaine Maxwell?

It also raised the question of whether Maxwell, a British socialite and longtime associate of Epstein, convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking and related charges for recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein, might be pardoned, or at the very least, have her sentence and case revisited.

Maxwell, once Epstein’s girlfriend, is serving a 20-year sentence at the low-security federal prison FCI Tallahassee in Florida. Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019, awaiting trial on a long list of sex trafficking charges, with many notable men, including Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, and Donald Trump, linked to Epstein. None of those men, however, were charged with any crime.

Referring to Maxwell and the uproar post-DOJ memo, a source told Daily Mail, “Despite the rumors, Ghislaine was never offered any kind of plea deal. She would be more than happy to sit before Congress and tell her story. No one from the government has ever asked her to share what she knows. She remains the only person to be jailed in connection to Epstein, and she would welcome the chance to tell the American public the truth.”

Central to Maxwell’s argument for another look at her conviction and sentencing, her defense team says she should never have been eligible for prosecution because Epstein entered into a “Non-Prosecution Agreement” plea deal when he agreed to plead guilty in 2007 to prostitution charges.

“It’s Epstein, over and over again,” Trump says

Referring to the ongoing Epstein controversy, once a major topic on the campaign trail, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again. Why are we not giving publicity to files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan and the losers and criminals of the Biden administration?”

For now, it’s unclear if Trump, Congress, the DOJ, or anyone else will take another look at Maxwell’s conviction and sentencing. Still, as the source told the Mail, Maxwell, who says she’s innocent, would “welcome the chance to sit in front of Congress and tell her story.”
