‘Trump refused to leave!’: Chelsea FC exasperated after Trump ruins victory snap, Photoshops him out

He also has the trophy in the Oval Office.

Isn’t it just always the way? You’re trying to take a nice photo with your friends and some random jerk thinks it’ll be hilarious to wander into frame and spoil it. Well, in this instance, the group of friends are Club World Cup champions Chelsea FC, and the annoying photobomber is none other than President Donald J. Trump.

Trump’s ego must have taken a hit at some point on Sunday, because once the final whistle had been blown, he promptly decided that, actually, this entire event should be about him. During the on-stage victory celebration, he wandered up on stage (to the bewilderment of players) and refused to leave.

This may shock you, but Trump isn’t especially popular in the United Kingdom. As such, his grinning face in the middle of every triumphant victory shot presented something of a problem for Chelsea’s PR team. Fortunately, they have a Photoshop license and are prepared to use it!

Judging by the end result, that clone stamp got a serious workout, with the final image looking normal so long as you don’t examine it too closely. Trump has simply been replaced with a dark, shadowy void between the players, which somehow seems appropriate.

My trophy? My trophy.

Unfortunately, Trump already had his revenge ready-to-go. The trophy Chelsea were lifting is actually an imitation of the real trophy, which is now permanently housed within the Oval Office after being gifted to him by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

To be fair, this is a smart move from Infantino. With the United States, Canada, and Mexico hosting World Cup 2026, FIFA needs to keep Trump as happy as possible. Gifting Trump a gaudy gold trophy is like giving a hungry dog a juicy bone, and presumably left him happy as a clam.

But, predictably, MAGA sees clone brushing Trump out of existence as a grave insult. One reply describes this as “bad taste” and “petty” and says they wouldn’t do it to any other world leader (to which someone replies, “No other world leader would be so clueless”), that Chelsea should be “proud” to have Trump alongside them.

The vast majority of the other replies are wishes we could Photoshop Trump out of actual existence. Sadly, this will remain a pipe dream. Mark my words, Trump will become stronger in death than he ever was in life.
