According to Dexerto, the video quickly went viral, accumulating over 33 million views within just four days. The clip shows the special bond that developed between Honey and her 94-year-old neighbor, demonstrating the beautiful human connections that can form in neighborhoods, who had made it a daily routine to bring the dog treats and pets every morning at the same spot along their shared fence.

After the neighbor’s death, Honey continues to visit the familiar location each day, still expecting their routine to continue as normal. The dog has been filmed barking at the fence, apparently trying to get her elderly friend’s attention, unaware that she will not be returning.

The dog and the neighbor were able to say goodbye before the woman’s death

According to Abigail’s social media posts, Honey and her neighbor Edna were fortunate enough to have a final meeting, showing how neighbors can truly care for each other despite initial misunderstandings. before Edna’s passing. The elderly woman’s family reached out to Abigail when Edna became seriously ill, allowing the pair to share one last moment together.

Abigail explained the touching farewell in an August 1 post on X, formerly known as Twitter. She detailed how Edna’s family contacted them when the 94-year-old’s health deteriorated significantly. The family specifically asked if Abigail could bring Honey to see Edna one final time.

During their goodbye visit, Honey was able to show affection toward her elderly friend in her usual way. Abigail described how “Honey got to give her lots of sniffs and lots of kisses on the hand and say goodbye to her friend.” She emphasized that the dog and neighbor “really did have just such a special bond” that had developed over their daily interactions.

The story resonated deeply with viewers, including members of Edna’s own family. Susan, Edna’s granddaughter, responded to the viral TikTok video with gratitude for Abigail sharing the relationship between her grandmother and the dog. She commented on the original video, saying, “Thank you for capturing this. I am now crying, but my grandma loved your fur baby so much.”

The daily routine between Honey and Edna had clearly become an important part of both their lives. For Edna, the morning visits with the friendly dog likely provided companionship and joy, while Honey had come to expect and depend on the regular treats and attention from her elderly neighbor. The continuation of Honey’s visits to the fence demonstrates how deeply ingrained this routine had become in the dog’s daily life, showing the lasting impact of their friendship even after Edna’s passing.
