The doctor who treated former Vice President Dick Cheney‘s heart problems says he is worried about President Donald Trump‘s health after watching a recent speech. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who now works as a medical analyst for CNN, shared his concerns on social media. He said the president looked “unwell” during a speech where Trump strongly defended his administration.
Reiner’s opinion matters because of his medical experience. According to HuffPost, he treated Cheney’s serious heart disease while Cheney was vice president. He even spoke at Cheney’s funeral last month after the former vice president died.
The doctor pointed out issues with Trump’s appearance, tone, and fast-paced speaking style during the address. On X, Reiner wrote, “I’m seriously concerned about the health of the president.” He said no one should be happy to see the president in this condition.

Reiner did not explain exactly what worried him. He only said Trump looked “unwell.” But this adds to ongoing doubts about the president’s health that have existed for a while.
Trump often claims he is in great health, but people question these claims. The public wants clear information about the president’s health since he leads the country. Reiner had questioned the White House before when they said Trump had a “preventative MRI.” The administration has faced scrutiny over various policy decisions, including how Trump’s promises clash with cabinet actions.
The president has also faced news reports saying his activity level has dropped. When the New York Times wrote about this, Trump attacked the newspaper. He called it “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” for reporting on his health. Using such strong words for health reporting makes the situation seem more serious and creates more questions.
The White House has confirmed some health issues. In July, they said the president has swollen ankles from chronic venous insufficiency. Trump also has regular bruising on his hands. These problems might not be what worries Reiner now, but they add to public concerns about his health. The administration continues handling other major issues, such as Trump’s fentanyl weapon of mass destruction declaration.
When a doctor who cared for a vice president says he is “seriously concerned” about the current president, people need to pay attention. Trump’s recent speech seems to have raised more questions about his health than it answered.
