‘He helped save my life’: Beaten woman says Barron Trump help was ‘like a sign from God’

Credit where credit's due, a Trump did something good.

Stop the presses! A Trump actually did something good in the world! Trust me, I don’t enjoy giving kudos to any member of the Trump dynasty, but credit where credit’s due, Barron Trump may have saved a woman’s life.

The story emerged during an ongoing criminal trial in London, surrounding the alleged brutal assault of an anonymous woman by 22-year-old Russian citizen Matvei Rumiantsev on Jan 18, 2025. Barron was apparently on a video call with the woman when he saw Rumiantsev, her former boyfriend, begin to attack her.

At 02.23 am, Barron contacted the police, telling an emergency operator: “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up.” He provided the cops her address and told them, “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.”

During the call, Barron was quizzed about how he knew the woman but refused to answer, simply saying:

“I met her on social media. She’s getting really badly beat up and the call was about eight minutes ago, I don’t know what could have happened by now.”

When cops arrived, bodycam footage presented to the court shows the woman immediately telling officers: “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son.” She then called Barron back in the presence of the attending officers, who confirmed that he’d witnessed her being attacked earlier.

The court was told that Rumiantsev was allegedly jealous of Barron’s “relationship” with the woman and was sent into a rage after becoming aware that he’d tried to phone her earlier that evening.

The cops soon arrested Rumiantsev, who is accused of two charges of rape, intentional strangulation, perverting the course of justice, assault, and actual bodily harm. He denies all of the charges.

“He helped save my life”

The victim gave evidence in court and specifically praised Barron for his intervention and summoning the authorities, saying: “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”

Barron himself does not appear to have been summoned to court (either in person or by video link) to give evidence and be cross-examined about what he saw, but we have to assume that as a key witness, he provided some kind of statement as evidence in the trial.

Whatever the outcome, we can only commend Barron for making the emergency call and ensuring the cops arrived before the situation could turn deadly. Here’s hoping this is just the first of many good deeds from him, and hey, at least there’s one Trump out there actually helping abused women!
