All too soon, Americans are going to have to find an answer to a difficult question. “What are we going to do with all these ICE thugs?” It’s inconceivable that, for example, the criminals who shot Alex Pretti in the back and blew Renee Good’s face off will simply escape justice, no matter how much Trump officials bleat that they’re above the law.
State officials across the country have underlined that they’re already planning for prosecutions. Tim Walz has urged citizens to record as much ICE activity as they can to be used in future trials, and now Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner has underlined that current ICE agents will be ‘hunted down’ by a future administration.
Krasner emphasized to a crowd of Philadelphians disgusted by Pretti’s murder that justice will come:
WOW! 👏Philly DA Larry Krasner:

“This is a small bunch of wannabe Nazis in a country of 350 million. We outnumber them. If we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will. We will find you. We will achieve justice.”#ICEoffOurStreets pic.twitter.com/CgyIiw0x4r
“This is a small bunch of wannabe Nazis – and that’s what they are – in a country of 350 million. We outnumber them. … If we have to hunt you down the way they hunted down Nazis for decades, we will. Will find your identities. We will find you. We will achieve justice and we will do so under the Constitution and the laws of the United States.”
“I’m going to do everything in my power to protect your sacred, constitutional rights”
Krasner vowed to the crowd that if ICE tries to do to Philadelphia what they did to Minneapolis, there’s going to be a fight:
“I’m going to do everything in my power to protect your sacred, constitutional rights to do exactly this — to speak out. I am going to protect your sacred, constitutional right to use your cameras, your cell phones, your photography. Because the only way we know what these liars are doing is from what people are doing in the streets.
Two Philadelphia City Council members are already introducing legislation intended to pre-emptively hobble ICE if they attempt to invade the city. As per the law, ICE would be forbidden from using masks, driving in unmarked vehicles, and using city property to stage raids. Minority Leader Kendra Brook explained:
“As a city government, we have the power to set clear limits on what happens on city-owned properties and what city-owned employees can and cannot do. With this ICE out legislation, we are doing everything in our city’s power to limit ICE activity in Philadelphia and get ICE out of our city.”
Strong words all round. Here’s hoping they get put into action and ICE discovers just how unwelcome they really are the second they set foot in the city limits.
